Bushy Tales 2019 Arts Mansfield Literary Event
WRITERS INVITED TO TELL TALES ABOUT ANIMALS
Arts Mansfield is running their popular Bushy Tales Writing Awards again this year, with the promise of an open reading night for participants to recite their poetry and read their short stories.
Entries are invited now for short stories up to 1500 words, and Poetry up to 20 verses on the subject of ANIMALS. These may be animals you have known or even ones you don’t like – or the glory of animals generally. Your story or poem may not even have an animal in it, but an animal of some sort may still be the central theme.
Everyone has a wonderful story to tell about animals they have known and what they learnt from them or the impact they had on their lives.
Then there are those who have a colourful story to tell about wildlife around their home or on their travels.
Deadline extended to Thursday 24 October.
Presentation night and readings at Bos Taurus (now there’s an animal!) on Thursday November 14th at 6:30 pm.
You can send your entries digitally direct to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those who prefer pen and paper, hard copies may be left at Vintage Traders Emporium or The Produce Store. Just remember to make sure your name isn’t on the story or poem itself, as judging is anonymous.
So get scribbling!
