Stitches in time

An exhibition titled ‘Stitches in Time’ will showcase 60 years of artworks by local artist Mary Webster. Mary’s diverse and extensive body or works spans from her schooldays in Aberdeenshire Scotland to her current work in Mansfield.

After graduating from Aberdeen University with a degree in Mathematics, Mary enjoyed a long career in secondary and tertiary teaching. Always in parallel with her professional career was Mary’s love and continuous learning and teaching in textiles and stitching.

Mary’s works have been exhibited far and wide including Melbourne, London and Wellington and she continues to teach and exhibit in local and overseas shows.
The exhibition jointly presented by Vintage Traders Emporium and Arts Mansfield will realise a dream of owner Melinda Grant to work collaboratively with the community. ‘I love the idea of business working with the community and have taken inspiration from other businesses in Mansfield who are already doing it well. It is widely accepted that Mansfield has that ‘special something’ and I believe at the core of it is the nature of the inspired and active community’.

The exhibition will run from Thursday 4 July until Thursday 18 July at Vintage Traders Emporium, 10 Crosbys Lane, Mansfield
