3 Faces 2016 wrap-up

The 2016 Mansfield Three Faces Portrait Art Prize Biennial is the sixth time this event has run with a focus on showcasing the creative talents of local artists and providing a unique opportunity to highlight an important person in our community who will be immortalised in a portrait.

Six weeks later, at the Unveiling on June 9, the winners were announced in front of a large appreciative audience. The judges, curator Shanley Cleeland and Mansfield Shire CEO Alex Green, took great delight in announcing the Youth Winner April Lachal and the Adult Winner Kym Stubbs.

As the awards are acquisitive the winning portraits will be displayed at the Community E-Café and the Shire offices respectively.

This year three Junior Categories were introduced in an attempt to encourage younger members of the Mansfield community to become involved. Tahlia Luz won the 5-8 year old, Abbigail Wettenhall won the 9-11 year old and Bethany Garoni won the 12-16 year old category.

Congratulations to all who participated with the hope that the Arts Council will see you all again at the 2018 event.
